Rising is a simple composition of fluid forms. It was made by re-running a piece of experimental computational physics code with wholly artificial initial conditions. Though the data underlying the image is merely nodes and triangles, the result could be a tangle of smoke wisps or sea creatures or thin fabric blowing in the wind. The similarity of the shapes of fluid forms arises from their similar origins: the equations of fluid motion first put to paper by Euler in 1757.
