Boston 3D Printing Meetup

  • Artisan's Asylum 10 Tyler St Somerville, MA USA (map)

It's been awhile since we've had a meetup; time to remedy that! This meetup is meant for current and future users of 3D printers, as a chance to share knowledge and tips. There's no admission. Bring any projects you'd like to show off. If you'd like to bring in anything to demo, such as a printer, scanner, software, etc., please do; there's plenty of table space.

We'll start with four short presentations by local users:

* "BlocksCAD: OpenSCAD for People Who Can't Code" by Matt Minuti
* "Integrating 3D Printing with traditional tools in the medical device market" by Sarah Boisvert  of Potomac Photonics, Inc.
* "3D Printing Algorithmic Objects" by Mark Stock
* "Capturing Fine Detail with Professional 3D Printing" by Caylee Kozak of Formlabs

These will be followed by informal announcements anyone would like to make: describing a project, asking for help, letting people know of a great resource, etc.

We then break up for socializing and demos, with snacks and soda. Formlabs will demonstrate their new castable resin, and Zachary Sherman will show his Printrbot Simple Metal V1.

Schedule:
7 pm - arrive and chat
7:15 - four short talks
7:55 - announcements by anyone attending, then let the schmoozing and demos commence!
8:00 - optional Artisan's Asylum tour; worthwhile if you've never been here before
9:00 - time to leave and do great things

See http://artisansasylum.com/directions/ for directions and parking. You can park for free in the Dane Street lot.
